First Lady, Carla Maddox 
Carla Maddox, LCSW, has served in the United States Army from 1980 to 1993. She served in two combat campaigns while in the United States Army. The campaigns were Operation Desert Shield/Storm, Saudi Arabia and Operation Restore Hope in Somalia (Africa).

After her career in the military, she graduated from University of Central Texas with a bachelor’s degree and University of Texas at Arlington with a Master’s Degree in Social Work. She has received her advanced licensure and she is a clinical social worker.
Carla is employed by the federal government and is the manager of clinic for veterans returning from combat.
Being a veteran, herself, she has devoted most of her career to veterans; however, she enjoys helping in the community. She is registered with the state of Texas as a provider for the Twogether in Texas program.
As being a faithful member, of God’s Army, Carla plans on using her talents and gifts to help the members of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church and the surrounding communities. She has a desire to assist members to enhance their individual lives through dedication to God, family and community. She assists with teaching Sunday School, singing with the praise leaders, and will be responsible for teaching various premarital and marital counseling.
She is currently in school at Texas Southern University where she will received an Executive Master’s Degree in business in August 2015.
Pastor Maddox and First Lady have been married for over 30 years
